Well she is a friend from Canada with Cape Town roots i met a little while ago, I think around 2003 cant really remember. I was still in between moving up and down to JoBurg from Cape Town. She was visiting her family from here in S.A ... Cape Town to be specific. She never said anything about her being a singer or anything ... i remember Heather who was with her, she dj's,she left me a mix back then. We even went to Soweto, ate Kota's ... if you don't know what that means sorry ... So a couple of years later she is making noise i hear her on Tumi's album ... i am like wow no wonder she had that much knowledge of music ... her album is really making noise and she has been on the grind performing everywhere including New York also has a remix with the Legendary King Britt. Anyway aim happy to present her to Party People this weekend and yeah my man OP! i dont have to remind you who he is and by now its now tradition, we will be rocking Party People every Dec. He will be rocking with me on the decks with DJ Nana from Canada whom i hear is also killer on the decks, he will be spinning for Zaki's performance .... cant wait!

Brotha ?uest...
What a weekend ... Riot was one of the most essential weekends of my life ... meeiting ?uestlove has been the most vaulable part of my dj life also cause he left me tons of music... ok he left me one of his external hard drives full of music ... he is a cool cat overall, answers avery ?uestion with honesty and enthusiasm. Word is he wats to come back atleast two times in a year to S.A ...
all i can say is thanx to my man Kgomotso making it happen ... the onus is on him to bring down The Roots naw ... at-least we had two Roots who came down to our shore ... Black Thought was here a while ago and naw ?uestlove ... these two cats are actually the The Roots, founders of the band ... oh and he really meant was he was saying about the Riot gig being " the most important night of his life" he kinda broke it down why ... check
Anyway there were people who couldn't download the tribute mix i did last week so i tried Zshare ... below is the link to the mix

DJKenzhero plays ?uestLove
Ok i finally did it ... hope this mix gives you an idea the calibre of the person ?ueslove is. He is more than just a drummer thus this mix ... i came across a four Volume compilation of ?uestlove's work ... and chose trax that i know some will go ... " did ?uestlove do that? " and introduce some you may have never come across. Well thing is the man is on production but not only on the drums i.e he played percussion on "Forgiveness" by Macy Gray and produced the School of Thoughts “In Liquid Form *I.Q "I Think..."” co-wrote Redmans "ill be Dat!, produced and wrote Dilated Peoples " War". His work as a drummer on other trax and projects will take me year to mention. i had a difficulty with my p.c, my memory was full to record the set so i had to cut it short. i omitted trax he did with Christina Aguilera, Mark Robinson etc ...
Any way below is my summation of this mans work ... hope this gears you up and serves as a reminder of the calibre of this artist ... but hey dont forget he will be trowing down a DJ Set check clips below for reference: Enjoy!

The Bridge is Over The Bridge is Over!
Took me a little while to write this post ... been recovering from the Masta Ace show, while i was in that mist we were on the verge of losing probably the only realest hip hop show in the country " Da Bridge" ... i always felt that if this show finishes, it will be my last radio show on YFM cause i dont see what other show will fit in, also some new kids need to get a bit of a break ... also cause my allies are all gone i.e Rude Boy Paul, Sanza, Bad Boy and now Lee ... i am saying this cause i have actualy played all the major slots on YFM.
( Short story before i list the shows ... i was first approached to play on the Harambe show when it started in 2000 ... I couldn't cause i had decided to leave for Cape Town. I feel like Naked DJ did justice cause he was the right person to do the job, he opened a lot of minds by crossing the boundary of new dj's moving towards commercial sounds and was one of a few who got a chance to introduce local hip hop tracks on radio in his sets. I left the city to experiment ...
anyway i came back and became a permanent guest on Harambe which had moved from the 6 to 10pm slot to 3 to 6pm, i played there on Wednesdays back in 2004/5 and maybe 2006 ... Luckily the brief i was given by BadBoy wasnt the same , i was alowed to play what eva i wished
anyway i had been on
1.Harambe with BadBoy T Lee & Sanza the drive time show
2.Kamikazi with Rude Boy & Sanza - the break fast show
3.Dabridge with Lee and Ace of Spades - the late night show
so if you think about it, i shouldnt be selfish ... but parting with "DA Bridge" definitely marks a huge hole in independent hip hop ... but im not sad ... with that said below is the Masta Ace clip which may be the last clip you will get from me from YFM ... ill try recall all the audio mixes i did from the show tho ...
